San Antonio Moms find New Best Friend Client Needs Prompt Nanny and Sitter Service to Expand into Texas’ Fourth Fastest Growing City San Antonio , Texas –Mom’s Best Friend, Texas’s largest full-service household staffing agency, announced today that they are opening a local office in San Antonio. For years, San Antonio clients have sought out the Austin office in order to locate the highest quality nannies, executive housekeepers, and other household staff. As the fourth fastest growing large city according to CNNMoney.com, the demand in San Antonio has recently reached a critical mass, causing Mom’s Best Friend to open a local office to serve the needs of client families.
“San Antonio is a particularly exciting move for us because we already have a client base in existence,” says Mom’s Best Friend President Kathy Dupuy. “Our local presence will simply enhance the level, as well as the types of services that we are able to offer.”
The sitter service will be one of the expanded services as a result of having a local office. This is particularly important in a city where, according to the San Antonio Tourism Council, the number of annual visitors now exceeds 21 million people.
The San Antonio Mom’s Best Friend office opened to job seekers on July 1st to begin the meticulous process of building a local pool of nannies and sitters. The signature of Mom’s Best Friend is the quality of their caregivers, which can be attributed primarily to the rigorous screening process that they must complete. Only about 10% of nanny and sitter applicants make it through the detailed application, the extensive in-person interview, reference checks, CPR training, a criminal background check, and more. After nearly a month, Mom’s Best Friend has assembled an impressive group of nannies and sitters that are prepared to be sent to families immediately.
Mom’s Best Friend was founded in Austin in 1994 by Kathy Dupuy and childhood friend Wendy Petersen when they experienced frustration as they attempted to find quality childcare. “At that time, most nanny services placed generally capable, but stodgy, unimaginative caregivers,” recalls Dupuy. “The most a parent could expect was for them to sit the kids in front of a video for a few hours and make sure there were no broken bones at the end of the day. Our nannies plan games and activities to engage children, implement daily curriculum and monitor children’s development.”
This model has resulted in rapid word of mouth and remarkable growth for the agency. Mom’s Best Friend expanded into the Dallas market within its first five years of business, moved into Houston only five years later, and entered the Fort Worth market just last year. As its clients’ needs have evolved, Mom’s Best Friend / MBF Agency expanded into additional lines of service. While the core business is still childcare, the agency now refers executive housekeepers, personal assistants, personal chefs, household and estate managers as well as a variety of other household service professionals. Mom’s Best Friend has also developed into one of the top providers of corporate backup care in the state to provide childcare to employees when their regular arrangements fall through.
Mom's Best Friend will be serving the San Antonio market with its full suite of services, and is looking forward to being a part of the tremendous growth that the area is experiencing. |
