Sitter and Newborn Specialists Process

(How can I start getting sitter or newborn care assignments?)

We would love for you to become a part of our team and show off your fun, caring and creative side as a Mom's Best Friend caregiver. We take great measure to find sitters and newborn specialists with a love for children, experience caring for children, and excellent references. Below are the steps to complete in order to become one of the fantastic sitters serving Mom's Best Friend client families. We realize that it is more lengthy than a typical sitter job, but we have SO many fantastic families and our system allows you to work where you want, when you want! Please let us know if we can help you through the process in any way.

1. Please note that our process is very technology driven. We have an online application, our sitter jobs are housed online, and all information about each job is sent via email. All sitters with Mom's Best Friend must have an email address and regular access to the internet. We understand that this may be difficult for some caregivers, but unfortunately we must adhere to this process in order to handle the large capacity of our many clients and caregivers.
2. Complete an on-line application
3. Interview with a friendly, helpful Staffing Specialist
4. We will complete a post-interview screening:
   

   • Highest level of education verification (Please provide us with copies of your transcripts or your diploma.)
   
   • Identity verification process (You will be getting a short call from our office following your interview to answer a couple of background verification questions generated by CSIdentity, our background check company.)
   
   • References checked / former employment verification (You will supply these in your application. If you can either provide us with their email address and/or notify them ahead of time that we will be trying to reach them, that can really save time!)
   
   • CPR and First Aid Training (We provide you with a great list of companies that provide this training. We are sorry, but online training will not be accepted - even for renewals.)
   
   • Motor vehicle records check (We will perform this through CSIdentity.)
   
   • Criminal background check (Initial and ongoing checks performed through CSIdentity.)

5. Once the screening process is completed, you will attend a one-hour Temporary Nanny Orientation at our office, and will immediately be able to start sitter assignments - it's that easy!
