Creative Ideas for Dallas Nannies and Babysitters
Go the extra mile!
Many Dallas Nannies and Babysitters approach their job simply as childcare. At Mom's Best Friend, however, our caregivers go the extra mile to make care fun and creative! Here are some fun ideas for your next assignment and beyond!
- Stories/Reading/Library: You can read their favorites aloud, make up stories, or listen to their reading skills as they read to you! Don't forget the fun of taking them to the library to choose their own books!
- Gardening: This can range from planting/watering/weeding outside in the garden, to simply planting herb seeds in a window sill pot and watching them grow!
- Sports/Play: Kids need active play, and whether you are taking a walk, or playing tag, or practicing their t-ball skills, you are increasing their coordination and helping them get in the habit of exercising!
- Cooking / Snacks: Kids are often more receptive to eating when they've helped with the cooking, or made something extra special and fun. Get them involved in the cooking, baking or preparation!
- Themed Crafts and Activities: You can make holidays special when you decorate, make festive crafts, or dress up! Don't forget the less-recognized holidays like Mardi Gras, MLK Day, Cinco de Mayo, etc. for even more fun reasons to celebrate!
- Music: You can play music, make music, and even use some new apps to record it all to a CD! Or if you have your own talents, they would certainly enjoy singing along as you sing, play guitar, piano, etc.
- Lessons/Education: Incorporate letters, numbers, seasons, etc. as you make learning fun! There are lots of online resources for you to pull from that are absolutely free!
- Fun Friday outings: If your family allows, pick a day of the week (like Fridays) to get out and see the city! It doesn't have to cost a thing - just check your local kids magazines for events and places around town!
Our families really notice when the Dallas nannies and babysitters go out of their way to make things special, and our caregivers have more fun!
