Nanny Placement Process
(How do I get a nanny job?)
Mom's Best Friend prides itself on having the best nannies in town. We would love for you to become a part of our team. We take great measure to find caregivers with a love for children, experience caring for children, and excellent references. Below are the easy steps to be one of the elite nannies sent to interview with our fantastic Mom's Best Friend client families. Please let us know if we can help you through the process in any way.
- On-line application (we apologize for the length - it's quite thorough!)
- Interview with a friendly, helpful Staffing Specialist
- We will complete a post-interview screening:
• Highest level of education verification (Please provide us with copies of your transcripts or your diploma.)
• Identity verification process (You will be getting a short call from our office following your interview to answer a couple of background verification questions generated by CSIdentity, our background check company.)
• References checked / former employment verification (If you can either provide us with their email address and/or notify them ahead of time that we will be trying to reach them, that can really save time!)
• CPR and First Aid Training (Please complete this step prior to interviewing with families. We provide you with a great list of companies that provide this training. We are sorry, but online training will not be accepted - even for renewals.)
• Motor vehicle records check (We will perform this through CSIdentity.)
• Criminal background check (Initial and ongoing checks performed through CSIdentity.)
• Nanny Professional Development Class (4 hours)
• Available per client's request: psychological evaluations, drug/health screening, and handwriting analysis
If you pre-contact your references, complete the nanny professional development and CPR training, and provide all required paperwork, the entire screening process can be completed in as little as 48 hours.
- Once the screening process is completed, your profile will be sent to families for whose positions you have expressed interest. Families will let Mom's Best Friend know who they would like to interview after they view the profiles. We will contact you to let you know when this occurs so that you may coordinate with the family directly regarding scheduling.
- Many families choose to have trial time with their top nanny choices, something Mom's Best Friend strongly encourages, in order to be sure that you are both completely certain of the match.
- Families will extend a job offer, and will complete an Employment Agreement prior to your starting the position. This employment agreement will be signed by yourself and the family employer, ensuring that you are both clear on the duties, the compensation, vacation, sick time, and many more details.
