As an executive housekeeper, you will maintain all housekeeping duties in one or more households. Housekeeping duties range from daily maintenance to heavy cleaning. The Executive Housekeeper positions are all full-time (30 hrs min. per week). MBF looks for candidates who possess a great deal of experience cleaning homes of a large scale, and who are familiar with maintenance and care of finer items. MBF offers both live-in and live-out positions, which are typically compensated $12-$20/hour.
Household manager /butler candidates through MBF assure that a household is operating smoothly. As a household manager, you should have previous household management (or similar) experience. You will often manage the duties and schedules of the household staff, as well as arrange for external household services as needed. In addition to being familiar with all domestic roles and responsibilities, MBF’s household managers provide hands-on services themselves. Duties may include managing a household budget, keeping supplies stocked, making travel arrangements, maintaining care of employer’s valuables, planning and coordinating special events, running personal errands for the employer and household, and coordinating all aspects of entertaining including receiving guests, assisting in proper table setting, and arranging outside service providers.
Candidates may either manage the household or they work under an estate manager. Compensation is between $40-$130K/year + benefits for an MBF household manager.
MBF’s estate managers function as the director of a large property and often multiple residences. Because estate managers supervise all household staff, you must possess expertise in a vast array of areas including human resources (hiring, training, bookkeeping and payroll of all household staff), landscaping procedures, security planning, contractor maintenance/scheduling, and planning /executing social events for the employer. Our estate managers also run a variety of personal and household errands.
Estate manager candidates must possess a business background, either through a degree, a training program, or related experience. Social etiquette is also a necessity, therefore you should have excellent interpersonal skills and understand appropriate practices. An aptitude in technology background is also essential for an effective estate manager. The compensation for a MBF estate manager is between $60-$150K/year + benefits.
Personal assistants manage the personal, professional, and household affairs of their employer. MBF families will want you to provide administrative, travel and household financial support, in addition to special event planning. Personal assistant requrements are a B.A., B.S. or B.B.A., excellent oral and written communications skills, and computer proficiency. You should also have knowledge of both business and social protocol.
Compensation for a junior personal assistant is $15-20/hr (degree not required), and a personal assistant / social secretary typically is paid $20+/hour + benefits.
Temporary Personal Assistants
As a temporary personal assistant, you will aid your employer in household tasks, errand running, and various other tasks (not including childcare). Temporary personal assistants help with moving, mailings, gift wrapping, etc. MBF temporary personal assistants are paid $12/hour.
An MBF couple serves as a team in either a formal or informal setting. Each person has a separate role which is typically one of the following: household manager/butler, chef, handyman, housekeeper, nanny or groundskeeper. Couple candidates have knowledge of appropriate social etiquette and have previous experience and/or formal training. Couples typically live in a separate attached or nearby residence, and their working hours and vacation days are typically the same as each other.
Couples through MBF typically are compensated $60K-$150/year + benefits. This range is highly dependent upon whether the nature of the duties are more domestic or managerial.
One of our experienced, highly professional chefs is employed to plan, prepare and serve delicious cuisine in a private residence. As a chef, you will tailor menus to your employer's taste and/or dietary requirements. You should also have exceptional skills in all aspects of entertaining. Excellent social etiquette is required, as well as organizational and computer proficiency. Your background should include a degree in culinary arts, previous experience as a head chef in a fine restaurant, and/or previous experience as a personal household chef. Compensation packages for chefs depend on their experience and formal training and range from $40-$70K/year + benefits.

Groundskeepers
Groundskeepers are responsible for the care and maintenance of a large property, including all land, shrubbery, gardens, yards and walkways of an estate. MBF candidates should be skillful in horticulture, have groundskeeper and/or greenhouse experience, and be familiar with the social etiquette of the affluent lifestyle. Their duties also include the care, maintenance and inventory of the machinery. Compensation for MBF groundskeepers range from $25-$60/hour + benefits.
Chauffeurs provide transportation for their employer to all the employer’s daily engagements. MBF candidates have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and an excellent driving record. They are always professional and friendly and have superb social etiquette. Chauffeurs are responsible for all aspects of car care, including routine maintenance, detailing and refueling. Positions are either live-in or live-out. MBF chauffeurs are typically compensated $50-75K/year (+ mileage when they drive their own vehicle).
