Congratulations on hiring a fantastic nanny! To ensure that this valuable connection remains strong, professional, and successful for years to come, we\u2019ve created a checklist of key qualities that contribute to a stellar nanny relationship. Whether you\u2019ve just welcomed your nanny into your home or have worked together for several years, we invite you to take this self-evaluation. Rate yourself from a 1 (lowest) to a 5 (best) in each area:<\/p>\n

\u2714Respect<\/strong>:\u00a0My nanny respects my parenting style, and I truly value her\/his expertise in childcare. We embrace our differences, trust each other\u2019s judgment, and I make an effort to avoid micromanaging. Plus, we always present a united front when it comes to the kids!<\/p>\n

\u2714Flexibility<\/strong>:\u00a0My nanny is great at being flexible with my schedule (which I try not to change too often), and I do my best to be accommodating when she\/he occasionally needs to adjust their own schedule.<\/p>\n

\u2714Professionalism<\/strong>:\u00a0My nanny and I maintain a professional relationship by avoiding oversharing of personal details, financial matters, or drama. We keep our boundaries clear and stay focused on our respective roles.<\/p>\n

\u2714Fair Compensation:<\/strong>\u00a0I provide my nanny with industry-standard (or above) compensation and paid time off (including vacation, sick days, and holidays), reviewing this annually. I ensure legal pay, reimburse on-the-job mileage, guarantee hours, and offer additional stipends for overnight stays or travel.<\/p>\n

\u2714Clarity of Duties<\/strong>:\u00a0The job duties of the position are clear for all parties, and I do not add extra requests unless we have both agreed to them (and eventually offer a raise as the job description grows).<\/p>\n

\u2714Open Communication:<\/strong>\u00a0I have regular meetings with my nanny (at least twice\/year), and I\u2019m always just a phone call, text, or email away if she\/he has questions or wants to meet up for a chat.<\/p>\n

\u2714Gratitude<\/strong>:\u00a0I make a point to show my appreciation for my nanny\u2019s hard work and dedication.<\/p>\n

\u2714Community<\/strong>:\u00a0I support my nanny in taking my child on outings to parks, museums, or classes, ensuring she\/he does not feel isolated or secluded.<\/p>\n
