Job Description

Family in Lake Forest is seeking a mature, professional Nanny for their three fun, smart and energetic boys as Mom returns to school for an advanced degree. Duties will include:

  • Transporting children to/from school – there are 3 schools with various schedules and pick-up/drop-offs (oldest in kindergarten, younger in preschool programs, the nanny will only be caring for all 3 children at once for 3 hours/day); everything is local (<10 min) and the children do not have any extracurricular activities at this time; excellent driving record required
  • Providing all care for children including preparing their meals and snacks, engaging the children in indoor and outdoor activities that will encourage their growth and development, teaching social skills, etc. (reading, fun games, parks, playgrounds, library, museums, etc.); knowledge of child development is a must
  • Keeping common areas and children’s areas tidy (including doing children’s laundry, keeping counters wiped down, loading/unloading the dishwasher, organizing toys, etc.)

Nanny will be:

  • Confident, capable, and experienced with preschool and school-age children
  • Education-minded
  • Calming, gentle, and nurturing
  • Able to maintain a routine – structure is very important
  • Mature and experienced – the family would love input/suggestions – they are looking for a collaborative, mutually respectful relationship
  • Able to cook simple meals (heating mostly – meals Mom has prepped, chicken nuggets, pre-prepared fish, mac and cheese, etc.) – enough for parents as well – they are not picky
  • Excellent at time management; punctual and reliable
  • Adept at building confidence and independence – Nanny will include the children in chores (making lunches, cleaning up toys, putting away laundry, cleaning up after meals) and look for other teaching moments
  • Proactive – preparing snacks/lunches for the next day
  • Comfortable saying prayers with the children before meals
  • Fluent in English
  • Flexible with slight schedule changes from time to time

Dad works full-time and Mom is a full-time student. Nanny does not need to be vaccinated.
