Austin ROTA (Rotational) Nannies
Austin Rotational (ROTA) nannies are the best option for consistent 24-hour coverage or high-volume schedules with heavy coverage needs (80+ hours per week). Most ROTA nannies live-in with the family on a 7 days on, 7 days off rotating schedule—though rotations can stretch up to 14 days on/off depending on travel demands, children’s ages, and family preference. Two ROTA nannies work as a collaborative team to provide seamless, 360-degree support with alternating shifts.

Heavy Childcare Coverage
Austin ROTA nannies provide seamless around-the-clock coverage tailored to demanding household schedules. Because two or more nannies work as a cohesive team, they naturally serve as built-in backup coverage for one another during vacations or unexpected time off, eliminating standard childcare gaps. This flexible tag-team dynamic is a true game-changer for parents juggling complex schedules or frequent travel. Children enjoy an uninterrupted, consistent flow of high-quality care, while caregivers get meaningful downtime to return fully refreshed and energized.
Pricing
Mom’s Best Friend fees are transparent and worth every moment of time saved! Like you, we won’t compromise, and because of that, the majority of our business comes from returning Austin families and word-of-mouth referrals.
Search Fee:
A $300 search fee will be charged when we present you with candidates for your consideration, and you will also receive a membership to our sitter services.
Caregiver Pay:
Austin ROTA nannies vary by the schedule, but for 24×7 care, you can expect to pay $130-160K per caregiver. For 12×7 care, you can expect to pay $90-110K per caregiver. Paid vacation, holidays, and sick days are also standard, as well as mileage reimbursement (for on-the-job transportation) and legal pay.

Our Screening Process
After so many years in business, the majority of our nannies have been either placed with us in the past, or are referred by placed nannies. We also cast a wide net across many platforms, including online advertising and sourcing candidates directly. Each nanny has to go through our intensive screening process, eliminating 90% of applicants. Our clients don’t spend any time sifting through numerous applications or worrying about qualifications. Rest assured that we will quickly find you the best nanny for your needs.
If you are not limited to Austin nannies, there are many more options for ROTA Nannies who may be from around the U.S. This is because the schedule lends itself to a caregiver being able to fly home on their off weeks. When this is the case, those costs are sometimes covered by the family, sometimes the family and nanny split them 50/50, and sometimes a nanny agrees to cover them themselves. Frequent travel with the family is common, so 24-hour ROTA nannies do not typically require paying extra nightly travel stipends.

Starting a Search
We will create a job description, collect the client agreement and search fee, and begin the search. We provide a detailed hiring handbook with interview questions and practical tips.
Interviews
We will begin submitting (or recruiting) skilled, pre-screened candidates to interview. We recommend bringing one or two of the nannies back for “trial time” to observe them in action as part of a working interview.
Hiring
After you have found your perfect match, we will draft an employment agreement to create your offer, detailing the specific duties, compensation, and terms of employment. The placement fee is due on or before their start date.
Ongoing Support
Your placed nanny will receive weekly themed curriculum, child development content, and training opportunities. You will receive ongoing Nanny Employer content, and can contact us for support at any time.
