Household Manager or Estate Manager Duties
Positions vary a great deal, and some possible duties include:
Oversee hiring, training & payroll
Providing hands-on services
Arranging external vendors & contractors
Managing a household budget & offering finance support
Keeping supplies stocked
Making travel arrangements & preparations
Maintenance and care of employer's valuables
Planning & coordinating special events
Running personal errands for the employer & household
Receiving guests & answering phones
Assisting in proper table setting (must be familiar with formal service)
Light housekeeping duties
Security planning
Administrative support
Technology support (Smart home technology, etc.)
Requirements
Each Household or Estate Manager completes a rigorous screening process. Fewer than 10% of applicants are accepted.

Have at least 2-3 years recent, in-home Household/Estate Manager and/or Personal Assistant experience, supported by strong, positive references
Have a valid driver's license, your own car, and current insurance
Be eligible to work in the U.S.
Be a non-smoker
Complete an online application
Complete a screening interview
Have a clean criminal background and motor vehicle records check
Complete our comprehensive screening process
Placement Process
Screening
Complete the online application, which will be reviewed by a Staffing Specialist. If you meet our criteria, we will contact you for an interview. Following the interview, we will complete the screening, including reference checks, a criminal background check, and various paperwork.
Interviewing
If you pass our screening process, we can then send your profile to hiring families. Those families let Mom’s Best Friend know who they choose to interview.
Trial time
Families and candidates use this time to make sure that you are both completely certain of the match.
Job offer
Families complete an Employment Agreement for the candidate they hire. This ensures that both parties are clear on the duties, the compensation, benefits, and many more details. Upon hire, we will be there to support you on an ongoing basis.
Ongoing support
We are committed to the long-term success of every match, and our support continues well after placement with ongoing coaching and advice for our candidates.
