Typical Housekeeper Duties
Housekeeper positions are as little as 2 full days or 20 hours/week through full-time. They are in high demand and are often hired quickly. Our experienced and proactive housekeepers typically handle:
Follow daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual task lists
Daily maintenance
Deep cleaning
Laundry
Handle mail, packages, & unloading groceries
Errands like dry cleaning, post office, grocery store
Maintaining household inventory & supplies
Organization & decluttering
Special projects & tasks uniquely needed in each home
Requirements
We are seeking enthusiastic, “can-do”, experienced Austin housekeepers who can take initiative and create or follow an efficient routine.
Have at least 2-3 years of recent housekeeper references (at least 1 of them part/full-time in-home), supported by strong, positive references
Speak English
Be at least 21 years of age
Have a valid driver's license, your own car, and current insurance
Be eligible to work in the U.S.
Be a non-smoker
Complete an online application
Complete a screening interview
Have a clean criminal background and motor vehicle records check
Complete our comprehensive screening process
Screening
Complete the online application, which will be reviewed by a Staffing Specialist. If you meet our criteria, we will contact you for an interview. Following the interview, we will complete the screening, including reference checks, a criminal background check, and various paperwork.
Interviewing
If you pass our screening process, we can then send your profile to hiring families. Those families let Mom’s Best Friend know who they choose to interview.
Trial time
Families and candidates use this time to make sure that you are both completely certain of the match.
Job offer
Families complete an Employment Agreement for the candidate they hire. This ensures that both parties are clear on the duties, the compensation, vacation, sick time, and many more details. Upon hire, we will be there to support you on an ongoing basis.
Ongoing support
We are committed to the long-term success of every match, and our support continues well after placement with ongoing coaching and advice for our candidates.
